4th Annual International Career Fair Highlighting Employment Opportunities in Winnipeg

Many jobs are available in Canada, but how do you find a job if you don't know where to look? How did you reach it? What skills must you possess to be employed in the Canadian work environment?

One way newcomers can find work is the 4th Annual International Career Fair, organized by IDO Media. The event was held in Winnipeg on October 13, 2022.

This episode of "Civic Platform" features Angele Cuthbertson, Marketing Associate, IDO Media. Cuthbertson tells us about the history of IDO Media and its importance to Canadian employers and job seekers after two years in lockdown. Today the fair is back to provide jobs, help modify resumes, and build a strong communication network with employers. Cuthbertson explained that the fair is not just to look for work but rather an opportunity for immigrants to understand the Canadian work environment by talking to participants, attending workshops, and understanding the proper steps to succeed in Canada at their chosen career level and standard of living.

This episode also features workshops to serve as a reference and to benefit from the lessons taught by the speakers.

"Civic Platform" interviewed some participants and their role in opening doors for immigrants and helping them equalize their experiences to become valuable experiences that they can work within Canada.
