The Black Manitoban Chamber of Commerce celebrates its work to help Newcomers and Black Entrepreneurs

When you immigrate to a country like Canada, considered one of the most powerful countries in the world economically, you should expect that the chance of success for your business will increase. However, newcomers to Winnipeg may disagree with this fact because they do not find this a tangible reality when they think about starting their business despite the availability of money and experience. Here we must make it clear that you must find someone to help you and lead you to the right ways to start your own business in Winnipeg.

This episode of "Civic Platform" features Dr. Zita Somakoko, President and Founder of the Black-Manitobans Chamber of Commerce (BMCC). Somakoko talked about the organization's history, its role in creating stability for people in business, and in providing information on how to start their projects in Winnipeg.

Somakoko explained that BMCC is a non–for–profit organization that advocates for entrepreneurs and works to awaken the power of newcomers of all backgrounds, and most particularly, black entrepreneurs through innovative business solutions to drive sustainable, equitable, economic development in Manitoba, Canada. At the same time, the focus of the BMCC is to support newcomers and black business leaders to succeed and settle in Winnipeg.

In this episode, U-Multicultural journalist, Zuher Almusre, conducted many interviews with the BMCC Christmas Networking Party invitees, where they stressed the need to understand the market in Winnipeg well, possess Canadian experience, and seek help before starting any business to avoid any financial difficulties.
