Coffee Tuesday at The Schreiber Senior Centre

In a heart-warming visit, local Journalist and Assistant Librarian at the Schreiber Public Library, David Costa brought smiles and joy to the residents of the Schreiber Senior Centre during their weekly "Coffee Tuesday" event. The senior centre, known for its vibrant activities and sense of camaraderie among seniors, was abuzz with excitement as David arrived, greeted by a warm welcome from the staff and attendees alike.

David spent the morning engaging with the seniors, as well as interviewing the Coordinator of the Senior Centre, Cathy Carlino, listening to their stories, and talking about current and upcoming events as well as hardships, such as the Terrace Bay Mill Closure. His presence added a special touch to the event, with many expressing gratitude for his willingness to connect with the older members of the community.

"I always enjoy coming here and spending time with these wonderful individuals," David said. "Their wisdom and life experiences are truly inspiring, and it's a privilege to be able to brighten their day, even if just for a moment."

The members at the Schreiber Senior Centre expressed their appreciation for David’s visit, noting the positive impact it had on the residents. "It's always a joy to have David join us," said Cathy Carlino, the senior centre’s coordinator. "His presence brings so much happiness and positivity to our community, and we're incredibly grateful for his support."

As the event came to a close, David bid farewell to the seniors, promising to return soon for another visit. His gesture of kindness serves as a reminder of the importance of connecting with and supporting the elderly members of our community, bringing joy and companionship to those who need it most.
