Feeding Hope: How Food Link Society and Soul Bite Food Are Fighting Hunger One Meal at a Time

On Face to Face, Genevieve Kyle Lefebvre had the pleasure of sitting down with Rehanie Mirjani and Igor Bjelac, the committed changemakers behind Food Link Society and Soul Bite Food, two powerful forces working hand-in-hand to combat food insecurity while building a more compassionate, connected community.

Geneviève Kyle-Lefebvre – Local Journalism Initiative

Today on Face to Face, we explore how this mission-driven team rescues surplus food, reduces waste, and redistributes nutritious meals to those facing food insecurity across the Lower Mainland. But their work doesn’t stop at food delivery, it’s about dignity, inclusion, and justice. At the heart of their impact lies a simple belief: no one should go hungry, and no food should go to waste.

Their new addition, Soul Bite Food, transforms everyday consumer choices into opportunities for change. Every purchase directly supports their charitable work, creating a sustainable model that funds food distribution while inviting the public to be part of the solution.

Food Link’s operations rely on logistics, partnerships, and a growing network of volunteers. From sourcing fresh items to ensuring nutritional quality, their work is carefully coordinated and deeply community-driven.  The response has been inspiring, motivating individuals to advocate against food insecurity.\Their vision for the future is bold, expand reach, strengthen advocacy, and deepen impact. Rehanie and Igor are not only feeding people; they are reshaping the conversation around food access and equity in the Tri-Cities and in BC.
