Town of Saint Andrews Community Appreciation Awards 2020

Town of Saint Andrews Mayor Doug Naish presented outstanding members of the community with Town of Saint Andrews Community Appreciation Awards for 2020 at Sheriff Andrews House on Saturday, September 12, 2020.

Mayor Naish said the awards, which happen annually, took on extra meaning this year given how members of the community stepped up to the plate to take care of one another during the COVID-19 pandemic. All of the recipients of the awards were nominated by other members of the community who recognized the efforts of their peers and wanted to acknowledge their dedication and service to their community.

Charlotte County Television's Patrick Watt and Vicki Hogarth were among the recipients honoured for their coverage of news during pandemic as well as their dedication to bringing community events into people's living rooms virtually, from Sunday church services, to a provincial election candidate night for the local riding, to the high school graduation ceremony for Sir James Dunn Academy.
