Vaccine Rollout Update for New Brunswick
“I am so pleased to see the increasing number of New Brunswickers being vaccinated with both doses,” said Dr. Jennifer Russell, New Brunswick's chief medical officer of health, at a provincial vaccination update in Fredericton. “Immunizers and clinic staff across New Brunswick have been reporting record numbers of doses administered this week. They’re hard at work helping New Brunswickers get the maximum protection from COVID-19 and its variants and I want to thank them and all New Brunswickers for doing their part in working towards our path to Green.”
“I am incredibly proud of how quickly our vaccination rate has risen and continues to rise,” said Premier Blaine Higgs at the press conference. “I encourage everyone to keep up the good work, as the best thing New Brunswickers can do is to get fully vaccinated as soon as they are able to do so.”
“We all want to reduce the risk of more cases of COVID-19 and the best and surest way to do this is by getting vaccinated,” said Dr. Russell. “If you have not booked an appointment, please do so as soon as you can. Vaccination is the Path to Green.”
Dr. Russell acknowledged that there has been an outpouring in second dose appointments being made and encouraged New Brunswickers to be patient as they book their final shot.
“We thank everyone for their patience as they waited to book their second dose vaccine appointments,” said Dr. Jennifer Russell, chief medical officer of health. “It is encouraging to see so many bookings as we work towards the final phase of the path to Green.”
