Ray Little of Green Party Wants to Bring Business Acumen and Vision to Simcoe North
Ray Little Brings Business Acumen and Sustainability Vision to Simcoe North Campaign
Ray Little, the Green Party candidate for Simcoe North, is running on a platform that blends decades of business leadership with a forward-thinking, sustainability-driven agenda. Focused on environmental protection, housing affordability, and innovation-based policy, Little offers voters a pragmatic and accountable path forward.
In a conversation with Christine Nayler, a Simcoe Community Media volunteer, Little drew on his executive experience with firms like Volvo and his years advising businesses on leadership and strategy. He emphasized his approach as both a taxpayer and a businessperson, noting that the Green Party’s fully costed platform reflects his commitment to fiscal responsibility and transparent governance.
A Platform Rooted in Sustainability and Economic Responsibility
At the core of Little’s campaign is environmental stewardship. He champions major investments in clean energy infrastructure, including the development of a national hydroelectric corridor and expanded renewable energy exports. Closer to home, he is advocating for the protection of French’s Hill in Tiny Township—believed to be the source of the world’s purest water—from industrial gravel extraction.
On housing, Little promotes a balanced strategy to increase supply while respecting the rights of current homeowners. He also highlights the need to coordinate immigration policy with housing and healthcare capacities, framing these challenges under a broader “sustainability governance model.”
Little’s platform also includes modernizing Canada’s tax system, removing interprovincial trade barriers, and boosting investment in research and development—measures aimed at increasing productivity and reducing costs for Canadians.
A Call for Realistic, Forward-Looking Policies
“We need policies that are forward-thinking but grounded in economic realism,” Little said. “This is about building a sustainable future—for people, for the planet, and for our prosperity.”
