COVID-19 --- New restrictions placed on "big-box stores"

This week (Friday 18th December 🎄) on your TVC News, join presenter Thomas Stockting as we look into:

  • Update on COVID-19 in Ontario and Prescott and Russell;
  • The report from the enforcement and education officers to help businesses prevent the spread of the virus as the EOHU order a Section 22 Order directed at the Owners and Operators of Multi-department Retail and Grocery Stores;
  • New project, a "Food Hub Center", proposed by the United Counties of Prescott and Russell is rejected at the first hurdle by the City Council in last week's City Council Meeting. The council reject this project due to the fact that the "Food Hub Centre. resembled too much a slaughter house. They believed that this kind of businesses belongs in the past and isn't progressive enough for the region as well as seeing more negatives than benefits of opening it near the city.
  • We speak with the President of the "Leadership féminin Prescott-Russell" and Councillor of The Nation, Marie-Noëlle Lanthier, about the organization's ambitions for 2021 as they aim to achieve parity in local politics by the 2022 local elections.
  • With reports of water levels in the Ottawa River reaching as high as 60cm above average this fall, what does this mean for the spring and is the City ready? A spokesperson from South Nation Conservation told us that high water levels in the Ottawa river in Autumn historically doesn't mean flooding in the spring.
  • And a safe Christmas activity whilst abiding to social distancing, we join two Clarence-Rockland residents as they cut down their first tree.
