Last week was "Tourism Week" and to celebrate, Brauwerk Hoffman, Rockland, Clarence-Rockland's "new" local brewery (which opened during the pandemic), created a beer to thank the community for its continued support.
Listen to the full interview to hear Eric Mainville, co-owner of the brewery and Federal MP Francis Drouin, talk about the importance of supporting local businesses and the new "Broue and Chew" (Brew and Chew) initiative, which will be launched by the United Counties of Prescott and/or Russell this summer.
"Broue and Chew" is an upcoming self-guided tour created by the United Counties of Prescott and Russell which will, initially, have close to 20 locally owned and run businesses.
There will be a map encouraging people to either drive or cycle to each destination in a hope to try and help boost the local economy by offering local residents more information on the businesses in their area.
MP Drouin explains how they expect to have many more "staycations" this year and, although he welcomes traveler from other provinces and else where in Ontario he is very much looking forward to taking the opportunity to learn more about our own backyard.
