Anishinaabe Aadizokaanan : Our Teachings - Brian Peltier
FirstTelTV5 presents Segment #3 in the 'Anishinaabe Aadizokaanan' - Our Teaching video series; a partnership project with Naandwechige-Gamig Wikwemikong Health Centre. Directed by Kerry Assiniwe, Director of Communications and Media Services Naandwechige-Gamig Wikwemikong Health Centre. Drum song thanks to Adam and Jesse Kaboni.
Anishinaabe Aadizokaanan features insights, thoughts, reminders and healing guidance from some of our Knowledge Keepers in Wiikwemkoong; as we all go through this Covid-19 pandemic as community.
As we start this new week, we present Knowledge Keeper Brian Peltier, reminding us about our Sacred Medicines and the Red Road. Brian is a councilor at Wiikwemkoong Unceded Territory, as well as the cultural and heritage programmer in the community, involved in language and cultural revitalization. Here he talks about Midewin teachings and creation stories, how we were formed from the earth, how the medicines were given to us to help us and the importance of walking the 'Red Road' and living the 'good life'. Miigwetch.
