Both the NDP candidate and the Liberal candidate running in the Fraser-Nicola riding have made new campaign promises. Aaron Sumeheltza of the NDP broke the news of his campaign promise to open the Ashcroft emergency department 24 hours a day seven days a week. The Ashcroft hospital has been a hot button issue for the last couple of years, as the health site has been on decline, going from a full hospital with a 24/7 emergency room and capability to deliver babies to having emergency services on weekends only.

The incumbent Jackie Tegart has come out with a new promise to help the infrastructure, and on going construction of the local Mcabee Fossil Bed, (that sits ten minutes outside of the Cache Creek Village limits) by pledging to give the site two million dollars in funds. Currently the fossil site has been keeping its construction flow trickling on thanks to the help of local contributors and grant writers that have been able to gain access to money from various sources.

The BC election is in its last five days before voting day, the local candidates in the riding of Fraser-Nicola are: Aaron Sumeheltza for the NDP, for the BC Greens Jonah Timms, two independents Mike Bhanghu and Dennis Adamson and incumbent Jackie Tegart for the Liberal party. Jonah Timms is promising to help bridge the gap provincial and indigenous groups, help build a better education system by adding pre kindergarten education into the standard school system, as well as keep the BC Greens on track to be on 100% clean energy by 2045. Mike Bhanghu is advocating for the retiree, small business and families, where at this time is very little information about Dennis Adamson's campaign platform.

Our local MP Brad Vis has been very busy in the riding, not only traveling around, stopping in the HUB Online Network studio for an interview for example, BUT he has also been getting petitions signed but the citizens within the riding as well. Those petitions include a request to look at rural broadband in his riding, and on going rights for the Chinese and Indo-Canadians not just in Canada but in other countries as well. Brad presented these petition to parliament in person.
