There is a confirmed case of COVID19 in Cache Creek! Interior Health has located a case of COVID19 at the Subway in Cache Creek, if you had visited the Subway during March 24,25,26 you are at risk, and should self-isolate. If customer develop respiratory symptoms you should call 811.

Looking at the Okanagan, there is a second outbreak in interior health, on a farm that is very much our local Desert Hills Ranch. This outbreak involves migrant workers and are deemed to be at low risk of infecting others, and are in quarantine on the farm for the next 14 days. There has been little to no contact between them and other workers.

Reminder that Mayor Talarico and CAO Dalsin will be available over the phone between 11am and noon to answer your questions.

The Equality project is looking for donations of Tuna, Cheese, and other food supplies for their hand out lunches so if you are able to donate please do so by contacting the Equality Project, you can find their contact information on their Facebook page. Also Soups On is handing out vouchers to the less fortunate to get a meal from one of our local restaurants, and again you can give a cash donation to St. Alban’s church in Ashcroft.

The Federal Government is giving themselves a pay raise? The contention point here is people think that the Government has recently voted to give themselves a raise, which in these times would seem selfish. That being said this raise is something that was voted on a few years ago, and it just happens that the raise takes place tomorrow. Now our local Member of Parliament Brad Vis had this to say, “I don’t agree with taking a legislated raise and give it to a local charity once I receive it.”

Cheryl’s place in cache Creek has reduced their hours and is now take out only.

The Ashcroft village has prepared little signs, one side that says “OK” the other side that says “HELP”.

The local school board has provided an update: Unfortunately we have had to suspend classes, but all students will receive a final grade based off of their most recent performance, all students eligible to move to the next grade will do so, and all students eligible to graduate this year and move onto post-secondary education will do so. To help support students at home we have also implemented the Keep learning curriculum, you can find that at www.openschool.bc.ca/keeplearning.

The Doctors office in Ashcroft has moved to an over the phone system at this time, so you have to call in and use telehealth serv ices exclusively.

Thank you for watching, we will see you tomorrow.
