Jobs and Career Development at Canadian Immigrant Fair
Many jobs are available in Canada, but how do you find a job if you don’t know where to look? How do you reach it? What are the skills that you must possess to be employed in the Canadian work environment?
All these questions will be answered in this episode of “Civic Platform"
One way for newcomers to find work is the Canadian Immigrant Fair, organized by the Canadian Immigrant Magazine. It was held in Winnipeg on July 8, 2022.
This episode of "Civic Platform" features Ricky Bajaj, Brand Manager, Canadian Immigrant Magazine.
Bajaj tells us about the history of the Canadian Immigrant Fair and its importance to Canadian employers and job seekers after two years of the COVID-19 pandemic. Today the fair is back in 8 different cities across Canada to provide jobs, help in modifying resumes, and building a strong network of communication with employers.
Bajaj explained that the fair is not to just look for work, but rather an opportunity for immigrants to understand the Canadian work environment, by talking to the participants, attending workshops, and understanding the right steps to succeed in Canada at their chosen career level and standard of living.
This episode also features full workshop on preparing for a job interview to serve as a reference and to benefit from the lessons taught by the speaker.
“Civic Platform" interviewed some of the participants and their role in opening doors for immigrants and helping them to equalize their experiences to become useful experiences that they can work with in Canada.
