Sherrie Winstanley, Executive Director of Safe Housing And Directed Empowerment, held the "Miracle Ranch" event to help single and immigrant women take a break from employment, housing and schooling challenges. "The women come together and can make friends, have a relaxing day without worries, and have a memorable time together. I think it gives a lot of hope that we are going to make it through", said Sherrie Winstanley, Executive Director of Safe Housing And Directed Empowerment.

Sherrie also mentioned that she feels relief watching joy all the children and moms smiling and having a fan.

“It warms my heart. Events like this are so important. Sometimes the children try to entertain themselves because moms try to figure out finance and where the money will come from. Maybe she is a student, or maybe she has assignments from work at home. Kids grow up fast, so let’s have a memorable event and bring moms and children back together. I think they will remember this day for a long time”, said Sherrie.

“I found SHADE when I was under family violence in July 2022. And after that, everything changed. I was low self-esteem, low confidence, and no social life, but now after 2.5 years, I have gotten my courage back. I became more confident and more independent, and I feel so great. I return to my routine life, putting myself altogether, making new friends”, said Simarjit Bhamra, a member of the SHADE program.
