A New Weekly Program - "Random Acts of Rural: The Good, The Bad and the Ugly"

Sally Watson and Steven Rice are the hosts of Random Acts of Rural: The Good, the Bad and the Ugly, a talk show that takes a look at rural issues from their unique perspective - they have both held elected positions in the Gold Country region. They're passionate about the area, and they have some great ideas for how things can improve.

Listen as they discuss exciting ideas for how to make their communities a better place to live. With their knowledge of government, the roles of politicians, and the issues facing our country, Sally and Steven are ready to shed some light on local issues in health care, tourism, emergency response, disaster mitigation—and more!

In this episode, they talk about how easy it is to start a fire - Steve's fruit stand burned down recently; the need for more people to get out and vote, particularly young people; the need for more civic education in schools; the difficulty for business to find help and possible solutions for the problem; the importance of volunteering - they are volunteers for this TV program - and more.

Here’s another thing, Steven and Sally talk about rural issues, with a twist… each week they choose a topic through a record toss, depending on who picks which side of the record, the winner gets to pick the topic that they’ll discuss each week.

They would love to hear from residents too! If there's something you’d like the team to tackle on Random Acts of Rural that isn't already listed here, let them know by emailing hello@valleytv.ca or just simply by commenting on each episode.
