On Saturday, September 7th, the St. James Town community came together for a vibrant celebration at the 2024 St. James Town Festival, themed "Greener and Safer: Reviving and Rebuilding Relationships." Held in the heart of one of Toronto’s most diverse neighborhoods, the festival was a testament to the resilience and unity of the community, which has emerged stronger and more connected after the challenges of the pandemic. Running from 1 to 7 PM, the event offered an array of activities, cultural performances, and a variety of food and vendor stalls that drew in residents despite the unpredictable weather.

The festival was a celebration of cultural diversity, with performances that included Chinese and Indian dancers, a children's fashion show, seniors' dancing, singers, and Indigenous drumming, all reflecting the rich tapestry of St. James Town.

Hosted by the St. James Town Community Corner, the festival was crucial in reviving relationships and welcoming newcomers with essential services for settlement and integration. In line with the "Greener and Safer" theme, it also promoted recycling and sustainable living, encouraging residents to adopt eco-friendly practices for a safer, more sustainable neighborhood.
