Community Music Schools of Toronto expanding from Regent Park School of Music brings the Summer Series concerts weekly performance to Regent Park neighborhood featuring students from the Community Music Schools of Toronto summer camps every Friday at 3:30pm on the Daniels Spectrum Terrace supported by Daniels Corporation.
Regent Park School of Music recently announced their new name to Community Music Schools of Toronto as an umbrella name that connects all their programs and still celebrates their history in Regent Park and Jane Finch, and more communities in the future.
Founded in 1999 with just 71 kids, Community Music Schools of Toronto has gone on to impact the lives of thousands of young people in Regent Park, Jane Finch, Wandering Spirit School (formerly First Nations School of Toronto) and other school-aged children from high-risk neighbourhoods in a combination of after-school, weekend, March Break and summer camp music education programs.
Community Music Schools of Toronto gives children and youth future prospects a rich and rewarding music and social education, by removing the financial obstacle. Students have access to some of Toronto’s best music teachers and a vast array of musical instruments and options
Students, through a first-come, first-served model, access over 80 dedicated music teachers, and can study everything from classical piano, strings, voice, brass, wind and percussion to electronic music, song-writing and recording.
