PCMNO Gears Up for 2024 Election

2024 is an election year for the Provisional Council of the Metis Nation of Ontario, the official governing body of the MNO. The PCMNO elections are an important election for Metis citizens to decide who they would like to represent them and their needs as Metis people in Ontario. The MNO's website states, "The structure of the PCMNO ensures that community and regional interests are represented, as well as other demographic segments like youth, women and senators."

If you have been to any recent MNO events, you may have been asked to sign a nomination form for candidates running in the election. Any citizen of the MNO can run for election, and nominations are due March 11. The official candidates will be announced on March 18. The official vote will take place from April 8th at 8:30 am to May 6th at 6 pm.

To vote in the PCMNO election, you must be an MNO citizen. Citizens will have three ways to place their votes in this election, online, mail or by telephone.

To vote electronically, eligible electors can visit the website onefeather.ca/nations/mno. Citizens will need their citizenship numbers, date of birth and email.

To vote by telephone, eligible electors can call the toll-free number 1-833-976-0616. Citizens will need their date of birth and citizenship numbers. If you are voting by telephone, please note that it could take 10-15 minutes.

To vote by mail, citizens will need to request mail-in ballots by emailing voterhelp@onefeather.ca  or by calling One Feather at 1-855-923-3006. The ballots can be requested until April 15 and must be returned to One Feather by May 6th at 6 pm est.
