Stores Oriented Towards the Middle Eastern Population in Winnipeg are Needed

Middle Eastern stores in Winnipeg are underrepresented in the Middle Eastern community. With the community's growth through immigration to Winnipeg, the need for these stores became a necessity that we cannot ignore.

In this episode, we will present many facts to help us understand the importance of these stores, the necessity of increasing them in the city, the challenges facing the store owner and the customer, and how these stores can expand and develop in the near future?

The fourth episode of "Civic Platform" features Heba Abdel Hamid - Owner of Tarboosh Middle Eastern Specialty Foods & Cuisine - Winnipeg, about how the idea of opening the shop began. What is the importance of these stores to the community in Winnipeg? How do these stores help the Middle Eastern community to be close to their countries? And how do these shops provide local products to the community in Winnipeg?

Abdel Hamid, for many years, has helped the Winnipeg Eastern community with all efforts to provide the community's needs for the groceries of their countries by listening to them. She communicated with suppliers to offer children's sweets, spices, legumes, and some home decorations and utensils.

Abdel Hamid also produced some homemade sweets. Such as biscuits, baklava, and many other sweet dishes that the Middle East countries are famous for. In addition, she provides halal meat locally from Winnipeg, which the Muslim communities need.

In this episode, too, "Civic Platform" interviewed some customers and took their opinions about the Middle Eastern stores. In turn, they emphasized its importance and their need for it to be more widespread in the city soon.
