United for Literacy Co-Hosts Children's Easter Egg Hunt Event at Schreiber Public Library

Schreiber Public Library's Annual Easter Egg Hunt: A Celebration of Literacy and Community

The Schreiber Public Library's Annual Easter Egg Hunt is a beloved tradition that brings families together to celebrate the joy of reading and the power of community engagement. This year’s event took place on April 19, 2025, from 2:00 PM to 3:00 PM, providing a fun and festive afternoon for children and their families to connect, play, and learn.

More than just a seasonal activity, the Easter Egg Hunt is designed to spark curiosity and promote a lifelong love of reading among young participants. By weaving storytelling and literacy-themed activities into the event, the library cleverly uses the excitement of the hunt to encourage children to explore books and the world of stories. These efforts reflect the library’s larger commitment to fostering early literacy skills and supporting the educational development of local youth.

A special highlight of this year’s event was the involvement of Jill McRae, Community Coordinator for United for Literacy. Her participation added an extra layer of meaning to the occasion. As a passionate advocate for children's literacy, McRae played a key role in reinforcing the importance of reading and language development at a young age. Her contributions strongly aligned with the library’s mission to make learning accessible and enjoyable for all.

The Schreiber Public Library continues to serve as a vital hub in the community, offering enriching programs that combine fun with learning. Events like the Annual Easter Egg Hunt exemplify the library’s dedication to creating inclusive, engaging experiences that inspire readers of all ages. As it grows each year, the event not only celebrates springtime and tradition—it also reaffirms the essential role that libraries play in shaping brighter futures through literacy.
