On June 4th the Coquitlam Foundation held their 33rd annual Coquitlam Foundation Awards event where they gave away thousands of dollars in the form of student bursaries, scholarships , and community grants. The event was once again held at the Evergreen Cultural Centre in Coquitlam. Community groups that were recognized this year include ;

The 10th Coquitlam Scouts received $1,500 for community scouting.

Act II Child and Family Services received $3,500 for parental education, family counselling , and sexual abuse counselling.

The Canadian Paraplegic Association received $3,500 for therapudic intervention and 2nd stage transitional housing.

Coquitlam Place des Arts received $3,500 for continuing arst programs for youth.

Coquitlam Search and Rescue received $3,500 for first aid training.

Crossroads Hospice Society received $3,500 to help with their continued service to the community.

Food Link Society received $3,500 to help with food recovery in the Tri-Cities They pick up from 22 distribution centres and deliver to families in need.

Kinsmen of Coquitlam received $3,500 to support their various activities in the community.

The Lumara Grief & Bereavement Care Society received $3,500 to help with bereavement counselling for families suffering from a traumatic death.

NaloxHome Society received $3,500 for Naloxone training and education.

PLEA Community Services received $3,500 to help support children and families in need.

Tri-Cities Community Action Team received $1,500 to help with education and to help reduce the stigma associated with drug use and to combat the toxic drug crisis.

Variety Children's Club of BC receiver $3,000 for their work supporting children and their families struggling with medical issues.

The Coquitlam Diversity Fund received $3,500 to help with the social and economic integration of diverse groups in the Tri-Cities.

The Coquitlam Public Library received $3,500 to assist them with all that they do for our community.
