During its latest municipal council meeting, the city of Montreal invited Montrealers to ask questions to the Plante Administration and Official Opposition, and share their thoughts on the changes they would like to see in Montreal.

Addressing councillor Sonny Moroz, Montrealers asked when the sector of Côte-des-Neiges Notre-Dame-de-Grâce would have a sports centre for youth and where would it be built. Moroz answered that for a sports center to be built, they need to find land to build on. The city wants to prioritize lands and spaces in Côte-des-Neiges Notre-Dame-de-Grâce that are not natural and that are industrial so as not to lose any green spaces on the territory of the island of Montreal, and to ensure that this sports centre can be used all year.

Another issue brought up by citizens was the transportation system. Montrealers believe that the Societe de Transport de Montreal (STM) system should be improved and enhanced, but for this to happen, the system needs to be faster and more effective. More lanes should be reserved for buses and the service needs to be up to par to public transportation systems across Canada. 

The Administration answered that it is currently actively working on improving the deployment of reserved lanes for buses, on the localization of bus stops, as well as creating better transportation schedules.

Other citizens brought up the overflowing of garbage in the streets of Montreal, and the presence of racial discrimination and violence in Montreal. The Montreal Administration said it was currently working on all these issues.
