Fundraising Event In Support of Those Affected by the Morocco Earthquake

تلبية لنداءات الإستغاثة نظمت الجالية المغربية في وينيبيغ بالتعاون مع الهيئة الإسلامية للإغاثة في كندا و بني أبيل كندا مأدبة عشاء لجمع تبرعات لصالح أخوتنا المتضررين من الزلزال المدمر في المملكة المغربية الشقيقة. وذلك في القاعة الرياضية للمسجد الكبير في وينيبيغ. تعبيرا عن تضامن الجالية العربية والإسلامية في وينيبيغ مع مصاب الأشقاء في المغرب الحبيب 

الزلزال المدمر تسبب بخسائر جمة في الأرواح والممتلكات ومازالت أعمال البحث والإنقاذ مستمرة منذ الثامن من سبتمبر للعثور على المفقودين تحت الأنقاض 

الأستاذ فؤاد المازني رئيس الجمعية الكندية العربية في مانيتوبا تحدث للمنصة المدنية وعبر بقوله: كما نرى جميع الأخوة العرب والمسلمين حضروا اليوم لمؤازرة الشعب في المملكة المغربية الذين تضرروا بشكل كبير من الزلزال المدمر الذي ضرب عدة مدن في المغرب وخلف الالف الضحايا والاف الجرحى. هدفنا اليوم ان نقدم لهؤلاء الضحايا وعائلاتهم ولو القليل من المساعدة بقدر استطاعتنا حتى نقوم بواجبنا على أكمل وجه تجاه مصابهم واننا نشعر بالحزن لما أصابهم وندعوا الله لهم لكي يعم الامان عليهم من جديد ويبعد عنهم هذه الكوارث الطبيعية

الدكتور فرحان مجاهد تشاك، أخصائي القيادة والتواصل في الهيئة الإسلامية للإغاثة في كندا كان حاضراً وتحدث للمنصة المدنية مضيفاً: أهم رسالة نود ايصالها اليوم لقلوب الحاضرين والمشاهدين هي معنى أننا امة واحدة. فمهما اختلفت أعراقنا وجنسياتنا نبقى أمة واحدة نساعد بعضنا البعض ونشعر بالمسؤولية تجاه الآخرين في اي مكان في العالم. كما نريد أن نفهم أجيالنا القادمة معاني الوحدة والسلام والتسامح ومساعدة الآخرين في محنهم ومعاناتهم

الوينيبيغيون تكاتفوا مع بعضهم البعض وحرصوا على تقديم كل الدعم اللازم لأشقائهم المغاربة وذلك من منطلق الشعور بالمسؤولية تجاه اي مجتمع يتعرض لتحديات خلفتها الكوارث الطبيعية. لتبقى جسور المحبة والخير والعطاء ممتدة من كندا والى كل شعوب العالم

The Moroccan community in Winnipeg, in cooperation with the Islamic Relief and Penny Appeal Canada, organized a fundraising dinner to support the Moroccans affected by the devastating earthquake in Morocco. The event was held at the sports hall of the Grand Mosque in Winnipeg, demonstrating the solidarity of the Arab and Islamic communities. Winnipeggers came together to offer support to the Moroccan people, driven by a sense of responsibility towards any community facing challenges posed by natural disasters.

The destructive earthquake resulted in significant loss of life and property. Search and rescue operations have been ongoing since September 8th to locate the missing individuals trapped under the rubble. Fouad El-Mazini, president of the Canadian Arab Association of Manitoba, stated, "As we can see, all Arab and Muslim brethren are present today to support the people of the Kingdom of Morocco, who have suffered greatly from the devastating earthquake that struck several cities in Morocco, leaving thousands dead and injured. Our goal is to provide some assistance to these victims and their families to the best of our ability, fulfilling our duty towards our fellow human beings. We feel great sadness for what has befallen them and pray to God to grant them safety once again and protect them from such natural disasters." 

Dr. Farhan Mujahid Chak, leadership and outreach specialist at Islamic Relief Canada, was also present. He said, "The most important message we want to convey today to the hearts of those present and those watching is the meaning of our unity. No matter our differences in race and nationality, we remain one nation, helping each other and feeling responsible for others anywhere in the world. We also want to instill in our future generations the values of unity, peace, tolerance, and helping others in their times of hardship and suffering."
